Registration of Infant Beginners, August 2023

P1 Enrolment

Children who attain the age of 5 years between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 should be registered for education during the week commencing Monday 16 January 2023.

Parents/carers should take their children to the appropriate local primary school during that week at the times(s) designated by the school concerned.  Birth certificates and a current council tax notice must be produced.

Information for parent/carers about the registration of children in schools can be obtained by visiting https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions/primary-school-registration-p1.

Information on submitting an early entry request can be obtained by visiting https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions/early-entry.

Information on submitting a placing request can be obtained by visiting  https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions/placing-requests

The placing request process is completely online this year but if you do not live in the Holytown catchment area and intend on making a placing request to attend Holytown Primary, we would appreciate you letting us know by email as we don’t receive this information until much later and this would allow children to participate fully in the transition to school programme. Courtesy placing request emails can be sent to enquiries-at-holytown@northlan.org.uk

If you live in the Holytown Primary School catchment area and wish to register your child for school, you can do so by coming to the main office at the following days and times. You must bring a Council Tax bill and the child’s birth certificate.

Monday 16th January: 1.30-2.45pm and 3.15-5pm

Tuesday 17th January: 3.15-5pm

Wednesday 18th January: 1.30-2.45pm

Friday 20th January: 9.30-10.30am

If you wish to defer your child’s entry to school, you must still register them on week beginning 16th January but further information on how to apply for a deferral can be found in the attached leaflet.

Deferred Entry Information Leaflet 2023-24

This information will be available on the school website but Please also pass this information on to family, friends and neighbours who you know have children due to start school in August 2023.

Holytown School and Nursery App

We are a mostly paperless school. All letters, updates, news and important dates are published on our school and nursery app. We would encourage all parents and carers to download the app on to their tablet or phone and receive notifications as soon as items are posted.

Please don’t hestitate to get in touch if you have any issues. All other enquiries should go through the school office via the main contact details.

Lunch Menu – Week Beginning 18th June 2018

Have a wee look to see what you would like to eat.  This week it is Week 1.

Primary 7 parents should note that excess money on lunch cards cannot be transferred to high school.  However, it can be transferred to a sibling within Holytown Primary.  Over the next two weeks, P.7s should aim to only add money to their cards that they will actually use before the end of term.

If you think your child would qualify for a free school meal and clothing grant, you should collect a form from the school office, complete it and apply.  Even if your child is in P.1-3 and receives a free lunch each day, you should still make the application as this may affect the price you will pay for Breakfast Club from August 2018.
